The geography of Cannes makes our case for us: the boats sit at Sainte-Marguerite, a mile offshore, while everything they need is on the mainland — the markets around Forville, the chandleries, the boutiques of the Croisette. Between the two, a channel crowded with summer traffic. A drone crosses it in minutes and lowers the parcel to your deck; nobody leaves the boat, no tender waits at the Vieux Port.
